A common misconception about longhairs is that they will need extensive grooming. That is not the case, a quick run through with a brush, especially behind the ears 1 to 2x a week is all the grooming most need. They should never be shaved or clipped like a fancy toy dog. In our experience they shed less then a smooth hair dachshund.
